According to the latest ESI (Essential Science Indicators) data released by Clarivate Analytics on January 9th, Chongqing Jiaotong University has achieved a historic breakthrough in the field of computer science. For the first time, the university’s Computer Science discipline has entered the top 1% of the global ESI rankings. Following Engineering, Materials Science, and Environmental and Ecology, this adds a new international high-level discipline honor to the university, marking an important step in the construction of high-level disciplines at Chongqing Jiaotong University. To date, the university boasts four disciplines in the top 1% of global ESI rankings: Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental and Ecology, and Computer Science.

      The latest ESI data reveals that in this issue, the university’s Computer Science discipline published a total of 286 papers, which were cited 5,421 times, including six Top Papers. Among the 835 institutions in the top 1% of this discipline, Chongqing Jiaotong University ranks 825th.

The inclusion of Computer Science in the top 1% of ESI rankings represents another significant breakthrough in the construction of information-related disciplines at the university, indicating that CJU’s academic influence and comprehensive strength in the information field have reached a new level. Looking ahead, the university will further rely on relevant schools such as Information Science and Engineering School, Mathematics and Statistics School, Economics and Management School, and Mechatronics and Vehicle Engineering School to deepen the construction of discipline connotations, striving to enhance the overall strength and international influence of the disciplines, and promoting greater progress in computer science to help advance the university towards the goal of building a high-level university.
